Ideals of Life in France; or, How the Great Painters Portray Woman in French Art. New York: D. Appleton and Company, 1890. Folio, full embossed leather with gilt highlights, 5 spine bands, gilt lettering, a.e.g., pages not numbered, but tp claims 250 steel engravings. Rear board missing, front board detached. Last couple dozen pages or so with some scuffing and torn corners in large part because of missing board.

The Art of the World; Illustrated in the Paintings, Statuary, and Architecture of the World's Columbian Exposition. New York: D. Appleton and Company, 1895, 2 vols. Folio, full embossed leather, marbled endpapers, gilt lettering front and spine, a.e.g., pages not numbered. Includes photogravures, typogravures, and a couple dozen typogravures in color in each volume, each of which have a "mat" page with them. A few "mats" torn. The mats tend to be toned along edges, but the prints and leaves are fine. Both boards detached on both volumes, but present.
