- Lot Description
Anti-Gallican Society Porcelain Punch Bowl
Chinese Export, second half 18th century. A porcelain punch bowl featuring the arms of the Anti-Gallican Society and motto For Our Country, with St. George depicted as a Chinese man, also decorated with floral sprays; ht. 4.25, dia. 10.25 in.
Provenance: The Stanley G. Carlson and Barbara L. Carlson Collection of Chinese Export Porcelain, North Park Towers, Southfield, MICondition
Minor losses to gilding. Minor chips to underside of foot. Several dark pocks, including one to exterior near arms. Areas of discoloration to the left of arms on both sides, possibly later paint.
