DEBATES, RESOLUTIONS, AND OTHER PROCEEDINGS OF THE CONVENTION OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS, convened at Boston, on the 9th of January, 1788 :
and continued until the 7th of February following, for the purpose of assenting to and ratifying the constitution recommended by the Grand Federal Convention; together with the yeas and nays on the the decision of the grand question; to which the federal constitution is prefixed. Boston: Printed and sold by Adams and Nourse ... and Benjamin Russell, and Edmund Freeman ..., 1788. First Printing. 7 by 4 1/2 inches in contemporary full sheep binding; 219 (1) pp. Record of the debate of the Massachusetts Convention to ratify the Federal Constitution. Wright Howes catalogued this book in 1938 with the comment that, " There was evidenced here no great unanimity of belief in the perfection of the Federal Constitution, for, while the Yeas totalled 187, their opponents achieved 168 votes; in 6 of the 12 Counties the Nays were in the majority."
