Lot Description

Domenech, Emmanuel. SEVEN YEAR'S RESIDENCE IN THE GREAT DESERTS OF NORTH AMERICA. London: Longman, Green and Longman and Roberts, 1860. First Edition. 2 Volumes, 8 3/4 by 5 3/4 inches in modern 1/4 leather and marbled boards binding; xxiv, 445, [1], +[2] ad; xii, 465, [1], +[2] ad pp. Illustrated with one folding map and 58 plates, many in colors, others duotone. From the title page: "Illustrated with fifty-eight woodcuts by A. Joliet, three plates of ancient Indian music, and a map showing the actual situation of the Indian Tribes and the country described by the author." Sabin 20554; Wheat 1008; Howes D410.

Condition

Modest wear to joints and edges but clean and complete; frontis is slightly loose and the folding map has a tissue repair; otherwise clean and Very Good.
