- Lot Description
8.25 in. clip point blade length with 3.25 in. false edge, 13.5 in. overall length. Brass quillon with brass pommel and rosewood grips. Although unmarked, this Bowie is no doubt an S.A. Walker. This knife is pictured on p. 131 of The Bowie Knife Book, authored by Norm Flayderman, and is the second knife pictured at right. Leather scabbard has brass tip and throat and is probably original to the knife.
Provenance: N. Flayderman and Co., Inc.The blade is in fine condition with old tool marks, light staining and pitting. Old sharpening marks. The grip is good with minimal nicks and dings. The brass quillon and pommel have a nice patina. Leather scabbard has some cracking and scratches. There is a hole just above the tip. Knife fits securely in scabbard.Condition
