A.W. Peterson Ballard Schuetzen Rifle
.22RF caliber, 28" heavy round barrel, S/N 30878 . Blued and color case hardened finish, checkered pistol-gripped walnut stock with Schuetzen buttplate and wide checkered forend. Engraved receiver with tight foliate scrolls, a bear in the central obverse panel and a stag in the central reverse panel. Standard Ballard receiver margins, barrel marked A.W. PETERSON DENVER COLO. Double set triggers, no front sight, barrel drilled and tapped in several locations, mounted with a J.W. FECKER telescopic sight, S/N 2189 in Fecker mounts. Sling swivels with a US M1905 sling by W.T.&B. Co , dated 1918 and inspected.
Very good. Retains much of the thinning blue on the barrel and some traces of faded case color. Margins and engraving remain clear and crisp. Mechanically functional, good bore with some frosting. Stock with scattered bumps, dings and handling marks. Scope with good optics, sling very good.Condition
