DESCRIPTION: Spanish tapestry of the Holy Trinity on a wooden stretcher. Depicts the Holy Father, Son, and Holy Ghost in a wreath of flowers and plants. Faces and hands of Holy Father and Son are made from paper and hand colored. Embroidered underneath "Por La Sta. Louisa Carrascosa". PROVENANCE: From Eleanor Allen and the late Heath Allen, Camp Hill, PA. MEASUREMENTS: Tapestry 20-3/4" x 18-1/2". Overall with stretcher 23-1/2" x 23". CONDITION: Yellowing, dirt, and discoloration to tapestry consistent with age. Right hand of Holy Father is missing, rest of paper pieces are peeling up. Fraying where tapestry meets stretcher. Chips to corkscrew on stretcher. Wear throughout.
