DESCRIPTION: A very fine high grade pair of Philadelphia Chippendale revival side chairs in the Gothic taste retailed by Strawbridge and Clothier and made by a bench-cabinet shop in Washington D.C. The form consisting of ball and claw feet rising to the slip seat with an elaborately carved Gothic Chippendale yoke back. Mahogany with high quality carving. Early to mid 19th century. PROVENANCE: From the Estate of Ron Shepler, Harrisburg, PA. MEASUREMENTS: 15" x 20" x 41". CONDITION: Wear consistent with age.
