DESCRIPTION: Igor Galanin (Russian, 1937- ). Gouache on board. Set design created for The Master and Margarita. Scene of two men conversing in a room, one wire frame bed in the rear left corner. The back wall is the only moment of color, in blues, reds, and yellows, seems to depict a man with head back and arms outstretched in exaltation. In black painted wooden frame. Born in 1937, in Moscow, Russia, Galanin lived in Russia and Italy. He emigrated to the United States in 1972 and became a citizen in 1983. MEASUREMENTS: 12-1/2" x 13". Overall with frame 17-1/4" x 17-1/2". CONDITION: Light wear to edges of piece. Rubbing and edge wear to frame.
