DESCRIPTION: Early embroidered saints panel of San Emigdio (circa 279-303), a Christian Bishop venerated as a saint and martyr, in watercolor and colored and metallic threads with hand colored floral paper border and identifying tag lower left corner. In painted wood frame. Circa 18th/19th century. MEASUREMENTS: 10-3/4" x 8". Overall with frame 14-3/4" x 11-1/4". CONDITION: Toning most noticeable around outside. Some loosening threads. Area of loss to lower "wood" beam above label. Wear and discoloration to paper border. Frame with wear and chips.
