DESCRIPTION: Angelo Basso (Italian, 1943-2011). Gilt and green painted bronze half-nude rising from sea with dolphin below. Signed in bronze at bottom "A. Basso". Basso was born in 1943, in Rimini, on the Adriatic Coast of Italy. A self taught artist, he has received commissions for a bas-relief of Christ at the Church of Ressurection, in Mantova, Italy in 1984, and a life-size sculpture of Padre Pio was unveiled in 2002 in Reggio Emilia, Italy. PROVENANCE: Purchased by consignor at Dyansen Gallery, San Francisco. MEASUREMENTS: 10" x 9-1/2" x 33-1/2" high. CONDITION: No defects noted.
