DESCRIPTION: A large, very fine and unusual Art Noveau bracket shelf removed from the interior of a Pullman sleeper car. The painted iron shelf consisting of various curved and straight elements with central plaques of three lobed flowers. Such a shelf would have hung over seats in an elaborate train carriage or car. Accompanied by two smaller brass shelves removed from cabin cars, which had probably been used over sinks. All circa 1920-1950. Shelves are from Renovo, PA which was a train car building and refurbishing town for the Pennsylvania Railroad. MEASUREMENTS: 9" x 5'4" x 6-1/2". CONDITION: Wear consistent with age and use.
