Depicts a large group of men with several jockeys on horseback. Marked at the top "Fore's National Sports". Signed in plate "J.F. Herring, Sen". Marked under image from left to right "Painted by J.F. Herring, Senr.", "London: Published Septr 1st 1866 by Messrs Fores, 41, Piccadilly, Corner of Sackville St.", and "Engraved by J. Harris & W. Summers". Marked under that "Racing _ Plate 4" and "Returning to Weigh". Under brown and tan matting in a wooden frame. Image size 13-1/4" x 24-3/4". Overall with frame 25" x 34". 2) Herring's Fox Hunting Scenes. The Meet. Depicts the meeting of the hunters before the hunt. Marked above "Herring's Fox Hunting Scenes". Marked under image "Painted by J.F. Herring Senr", "London, Published October 1867, by R. Dodson 147, Strand.", and "Engraved by J. Harris". Titled underneath "The Meet". In black and metallic painted wooden frame. Image size 17-1/2" x 29-3/4". Overall with frame 24-1/2" x 36-3/4". MEASUREMENTS: See Description. CONDITION: Toning to paper of each, The Meet is darker.
