DESCRIPTION: 19th century still life of game bird, possibly by George Cattermole (English, 1800-1868). Oil on canvas. Bird hung upside down from foot. Signed at lower right corner with monogram "GC" and "84". In dark wood frame. MEASUREMENTS: 19-5/8" x 15-5/8". Overall with frame 23-3/4" x 19-5/8". CONDITION: Small losses to painting, with one 3/4" tear with hole forming on head of bird. Scratches and chips to frame.
