Peter Corbin, born in 1945, is among the leading contemporary sporting artists. He studied and trained at Wesleyan University and the California College of Arts and Crafts. He aims for asymmetrical balance and to capture the landscape as well as the essence of the hunting or fishing experience in his work.
This work, "October Afternoon," was published in a signed and limited edition of 300. Of it, Corbin writes, "If we could trade in March for another October, most of us would gladly apply. The woodcock is the harbinger of fall. When the flight comes in the popple thickets, there is nowhere else I'd rather be. My good friend, Tom Davis, writer and dog man extraordinaire, is featured in this print with his wonderful setter, Emmy Lou."
