Peep
Long Island, c. 1890
5 3/4 in. long
Measuring less than six inches in length, this little sandpiper is perhaps the smallest decoy in the O'Brien Collection. The petite body features simple, but meticulous stippled paint similar to that of the Verity family.
Original paint with some stippled touch-up where worn to bare wood, replaced bill.
