A. Elmer Crowell (1862-1952), East Harwich, MA, c. 1920
An extremely rare turned-head miniature carving with the maker's "A. E. Crowell & Son, Bird Carving, E. Harwich, Mass." dark blue paper label on the bottom of the base. Crowell made very few preening miniatures; this carving represents a rare opportunity to acquire a version in miniature of the maker's most iconic species and form.
