signed "Ruehle" on base
sterling silver, 4 3/4 by 8 by 5 1/4 in.
inscribed and dated "Copyright 1978" above signature
marked "ARTWORKS FOUNDRY" on the back edge
inscribed "1.12 Ag" on the top left, Ag is the elemental symbol for silver
three grouse lay in the frontRuehle became a professional sculptor in 1974. His work can be found in the collection of the National Academy of Design in New York as well as the National Wildlife Art Museum in Jackson, Wyoming. Additionally, Ruehle worked for many years as a biology instructor in Arkansas after completing a PhD in plant developmental genetics. He was a member of the Society of Animal Artists, among other honors in his art career.
