Whiting Manufacturing Co. 106 piece sterling silver Louis XV pattern set of flatware for J.R. Reed & Co., Pittsburgh, together with a set of Harrison Brothers & Howson silver plate and mother of pearl handled cutlery. Whiting sterling silver flatware set includes: 4 soup spoons, 12 large spoons, 14 teaspoons, 12 dinner spoons, 12 monogrammed parcel gilt demitasse spoons, 13 dessert forks, 12 dinner forks, 12 personal butter spreaders, 1 long handled double-spout parcel gilt ladle, 1 parcel gilt sugar spoon, 1 master butter spreader, 2 monogrammed parcel gilt salt spoons, 1 parcel gilt gravy ladle, 1 parcel gilt small ladle, 1 parcel gilt serving fork, 2 parcel gilt servers, 1 parcel gilt cheese scoop, 3 tete-a-tete tongs, 1 monogrammed parcel gilt pierced bon bon ladle (not Whiting Manufacturing). All with Whiting mark, Sterling, 1891, some with J.R. Reed. Ranging in size from 3.5 to 14.5 inches. Approximate combined sterling weight 122.98 ozt. Harrison Brothers & Howson set includes: 12 dinner knives, 12 luncheon knives, 2 carving forks with rests, 2 carving knives, 1 sharpening tool, 1 serrated edge pie server, all with appropriate marks, ranging in size from 7.75 to 13 inches. All housed in a J.R. Reed & Co. birdseye maple flatware box with mint green silken interior, 12 x 21.5 x 16 inches.In overall good condition, apart from 1 butter spreader badly dented and bent, double-spout ladle dented, several pieces with faded gold wash.
