Calle, Sophie (French, b.1953), Autobiographical Stories, Wedding Dress: Photo and Text, 1988-89, gelatin silver print and printed text, both mounted to aluminum and framed separately, number 1 from the edition of 5, the photo measures 62 x 36 inches and is in a wood frame 64.5 x 38.5 inches, the text sheet is 16 inches square and framed 18.25 inches square. Exhibited: Pittsburgh Collects, Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh, 1993. Provenance: The Diana Jannetta Collection-Jannetta was an esteemed collector of decorative and fine arts, known for her discerning eye and dedication to preserving artistic excellence. A lifelong advocate for the arts, she assembled a distinguished collection featuring European and American paintings, sculptures, and objets d’art. The collection encompassed works from the 18th through the 20th centuries, with a particular emphasis on craftsmanship and historical significance. Over the years, pieces from the Jannetta collection have been exhibited in museums and galleries, reflecting her deep appreciation for artistic heritage; Fred Hoffman Gallery.In seemingly good condition, unexamined outside of the frame.
