Roth, Dieter (aka Diter Rot) (German/Swiss, 1930-1998), Book AC 1958-1974, printed and published by Ives-Sillman, New Haven, CT, complete set of 24 slotted sheets (12 black and 12 white) housed in clamshell slipcase, title page annotated AC2 9/100 in black ink, unsigned, sheets measure 16 inches square. There are seemingly no other examples of this specific edition (i.e., 1958-1974) mentioned in previous auctions results or OCLC. The sheets are identical in size, color and design to the original edition which was titled 1958-1964 and done in an edition of 250. From the MoMA exhibit of Roth's editions, "Book AC consists of loose pages in two colors, which can be shuffled and oriented in any way the reader chooses. Each page of the book features a series of cut slots: thick and thin, single and multiple, at various angles. Turning the page is a distinctly kinetic experience as one cut sheet piles on top of another, with the patterned grids flickering to great optical effect."
