The artist writes, “For me, time spent in Yellowstone is in many ways, a very spiritual experience. While predators and large mammals often first come to mind when we think of animals in the Park, as an artist I am always taken by the beauty of swans in Yellowstone during periods of winter. The magic of this aesthetic is particularly potent in the early hours when mist often forms on the waterways, and everything is purified in white. It’s a transcendent experience, and a subject that I’m moved to paint again and again.”
