Guy Coheleach (b. 1933)
Lone Moose (1977)
oil on canvas
16 × 26 inches
signed lower left
In discussing this painting the artist wrote, “This painting was inspired by a winter trip to Algonquin Park in Ontario, Canada. We were watching ravens when behind us we noticed this lone bull moose trudging through the snow.
“I never seem to be comfortable painting gray winter days. I always want to put more color into the painting that I actually see.”
