Michael Gitlin is a contemporary sculptor whose work can be characterized as abstract and reductive. Gitlin's one-person museum shows have included: the Israel Museum, Jerusalem; the ICC Antwerp; Exit Art, New York; Kunstraum Munchen; Bonn Kunstverein; Kunsthalle Mannheim; Carnegie Mellon Art Gallery; and Museum van Hedendaagse Kunst Antwerpen. In recent years, Gitlin has worked with steel wool, copper wire, foam, and black spandex. Drawing too has always been a demanding part of Gitlin's project.
