Andréa Stanislav (b. Chicago,1968) is based in New York City, NY in St.Petersburg, Russia, and works in Bloomington, IN. Ms. Stanislav's hybrid practice spans sculpture, immersive multimedia installation, video, and public art. Her work mines cultural histories to question and reflect the present and future through a lens that melds beauty, horror and the unexpected. Andréa Stanislav's visual art work has been exhibited internationally and nationally at museums, contemporary art centers, galleries, and biennials. Andréa has been the recipient of numerous awards and grants including: 2019 National Center of Contemporary Art (NCCA) Residency Award, St. Petersburg, RU; The 2015/2016 Freund Fellowship, Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts, Washington University, St. Louis / St. Louis Art Museum; Lower Manhattan Cultural Council 2012 Residency, NYC; 2010/2011 McKnight Artists Fellowship for Visual Arts, Minneapolis; a University of Calgary International Visiting Artist Fellowship (along with Brian Eno); and a Socrates Sculpture Park 2009 Jerome Emerging Artist Fellowship, NYC.
Works can be retrieved the night of the Gala for winning bidders in attendance or from the CITYarts offices in NoHo for online bidders throughout NY. Shipping will otherwise be coordinated on a case by case basis for lots sold to bidders out of state, internationally, or for NY residents who require shipping, and the buyer agrees to cover these costs.
