Monumental George Spencer Fuller (American 1863-1911) Original Oil on Canvas Winter Landscape. The Landscape is in Deerfield, Massachusetts, where George Spencer Fuller spent most of his life. George Spencer Fuller was born in Deerfield, February 25, 1863, the eldest child of well known American Figure and Portrait Artist George Fuller (1822-1884). Spencer married Mary Williams Field, daughter of Alfred Russell and Rebecca (Williams) Field, at Deerfield on October 17, 1889. They had four children. By the time of his marriage, he had assumed the responsibilities of the family farm. He had also inherited the family artistic talent, and painted landscapes and other works whenever he was free to do so. Many of his winter landscapes were painted on or near the family farm.
