A pair of portiers, one side in cotton with fanciful woodland landscape border and repeating medallions of stylized plants. Verso in yellow silk with repeating medallions, fountains, bridges and trees. Hewnoaks was the home of the Douglas Volk family in Center Lovell, ME. It was also an art colony and Arts and Crafts Community frequented by many of America's most well known artists at the turn of the 20th Century. (Tears to silk side, stains) fair. Each 86 x 94.
