Edison model # C19 Diamond Disc Phonograph, circa 1916. Cabinet (possibly oak) shows usual age and wear, scratches/scuffs/staining. Wood varnish is heavily crazed. Dimensions are 21" x 22 1/2" x 51", legs have metal wheels. Gold-plated brass hardware includes original tonearm for Edison discs PLUS an extra to play regular 78's. Radial movement arm, cueing mechanism and crank all intact; best of all, it cranks up and WORKS! This WAS play-tested! Large metal internal horn. Grill is intact, with a blue/gold lightly iridescent cloth. No tears, only minor discoloration and shrinkage around top. Cabinet door opens to record storage; INCLUDES an Edison branded skeleton key that works, along with a mix of 78's and Edison discs.
Finally, a special fitted box included at the time has the extra needle arm, Bryphonic nickel-plated steel needles, Edison "Grease", and the original Edison Diamond Disc Phonographs how-to manual(!!)
Overall, a great place to start with collecting 78 players, adding to a collection, or a great refurbishment piece. A gem!
