- Lot Description
19th C. Southern Pineapple pattern applique quilt, hand appliqued and quilted. Consisting of 4 rows of 5 reverse applique pineapples within a vine border, rendered with turkey red and green cotton fabrics in colors on a cream ground and cream unseamed backing, with hand-stitched green binding and mitered corners. Very fine cross hatching quilting throughout. 94" x 112". Circa 1850's.
Condition
Some fading to colors and scattered stains and spotting. Liquid staining, corrosion to bottom edge. Four very small tears to the border. The right side shows slight fabric deterioration and faded colors. Staining and discoloration to the back along with fold creasing.
