Substantial Kentucky coin silver gravy ladle with round bowl, pointed fins and fiddle handle, monogrammed BER, marked J & G Snyder in rectangle on reverse (James C and George W. Snyder, working Paris, Kentucky 1845-1848). 8 1/4"L, 2.47 oz troy. Ref. Marquis Boultinghouse, Silversmiths of Kentucky, 1785-1900, p.254, mark illustrated p. 306, fig. 152 A-B. Together with 3 Coin Silver Table or Serving Spoons with fiddle handles monogrammed AF, marked on reverse in serrated rectangles "G.S." (George Snyder, working Paris, KY, 1803-1813). 8 3/4"L, 5.44 oz troy. Ref. Marquis Boultinghouse, Silversmiths of Kentucky, 1785-1900, p.254, mark illustrated p. 301, fig. 151A. Note: George and James Snyder were father and son; George Snyder is credited with devising an improved multiplying fishing reel which became known as the "Kentucky" fishing reel. Spoons: Some light wear to tips of bowls, scattered small dents, one handle with some light discoloration, overall good condition.
