- Lot Description
Serge Poliakoff (active/lived in Belarus, France, Russian Federation, 1900/1906 -1969) abstract color lithograph composed of conjoined white, yellow, blue, and red geometric shapes. Pencil signed "Serge Poliakoff" lower right and editioned 44/200 lower left. Also pencil inscribed en verso "POLIAKOFF, Composition, Lithographique." Unframed. Sight: 23 3/4" H x 18" W. Sheet: 28 3/4" H x 19 1/2" W. Note: This composition was featured on a poster for two exhibitions of work by Serge Poliakoff at the Knoedler Gallery and the Berggruen Gallery in Paris in 1959.
PROVENANCE: Deaccessioned by a Southern institution to benefit the acquisitions fund.
Condition
Faintly sun struck, otherwise overall very good condition. With horizontal fold through lower margin and old tape along upper edge en verso.
