Sheet Music and Song Broadside from the presidential campaign and administration of Andrew Jackson (b. 1767- d. 1845, served as President 1829-1837), plus a Jackson related pamphlet. Includes "President Jackson's Parade March," pub. by Geo. Willey, undated; and first two of three pages of "President Jackson's Grand March," arr. by Mr. Peile, "performed by the Boston Brigade Band." Each approx. 13" x 9". Also includes a broadside of 2 satirical songs, one election related, titled "Huzza for Jackson," the other "Washing Day." 17 1/2 x 7 3/4". Circa 1832. Also included is one pamphlet, "The Letters of Columbus, Originally published in the Boston Bulletin, to which are added Two Letters of Col. Orne to Gen. Duff Green," Boston: Putnam & Hunt, 1829, concerning political appointments in Boston during the early Jacksonian era. 5 1/2" x 8 1/2".
All items encapsulated (not laminated) in protective plastic sheeting, with expected toning, light fading, minor foxing, scattered edge chipping and creasing. President Jackson's Grand March is missing the last page of music, numbered page 3. 4 1/2" area of loss to lower margin on the Parade March. Lower corner losses to Huzza broadside. Both Huzza and the Grand March have been cleaned and deacidified. Pamphlet lacks covers but is in overall very good condition, not encapsulated.
