- Lot Description
James "Jimmie" Rodgers (American. 1897-1933) signed black and white photograph. The singer wears a dark suit and hat and holds a guitar. Signed in pen: "From your friend, Jimmie Rodgers." The photograph is mounted onto album cardstock. Photo: 11" H x 8 3/8" W. Overall: 11 7/8" H x 9" W. Note: Jimmie Rodgers, known professionally as the "Singing Brakeman" and "America’s Blue Yodeler," was in the first class of inductees honored by the Country Music Hall of Fame and is widely known as "The Father of Country Music." Condition
Some overall light sun fading to the image. Very small tear in the cardstock, lower right corner, that extends into the photograph approximately 1/4" and a small area of adhesive residue. Small approx. 1/4" tear to the cardstock upper center margin. Cardstock backing with toning.
