Large Regency mahogany cellarette of sarcophagus form, probably Irish. The stepped octagonal top with a large finial carving of grapes and pomegranate. Front panel keyhole escutcheon with carved grapes and leaves. Interior with the original zinc lining. Retains the original brass castors. 26"H x 34"W x 24"D. 19th century. Provenance - Lexington, Kentucky area collection. (Higher-resolution photos are available at www.caseantiques.com)
Overall very good condition with one old loss to grape leaf carving on top. A couple of areas of roughness on base edge of form.
