Two (2) volumes, 8vo, in period 1/4 leather over marbled paper boards, with identical marbled endpapers and edges; two-toned red and green leather on spine with gilt stamping, engraved plates distributed throughout text. Each 9 1/4" H x 6" W. Full title: Narrative of a Voyage Round the World, Performed in Her Majesty's Ship Sulphur, During the Years 1836-1842, Including Details of the Naval Operations in China, From Dec. 1840 to Nov. 1841.
Very Good overall condition, previous owner's handwritten nameplate inside each front cover; board edges and corners rubbed; bookseller pencil notations interior, no maps present as normally would be found in this edition, nor publisher's advertisements.
