- Lot Description
Antique Persian Tabriz silk on silk prayer rug, cream ground throughout, central mihrab design with scrolling foliate decoration, and cartouche with Arabic script top center reading "God is great" flanked by bird and flowering vase designs, within four primary borders including one large border with six additional cartouche panels with Arabic script. Heavy use of gold and silver thread throughout small portions of the carpet. 5ft 10in x 3ft 10in. Second half of the 19th century.
Condition
Overall very good condition, with very minor pile wear to the center. The top has been fitted with a rod pocket for hanging.
