- Lot Description
Two (2) Royal Hill Milleson (Illinois/Ohio, 1849-1935) landscape paintings. 1st item: Oil on canvas painting of a ship beached on the rocks before a body of water. Signed lower left. Unframed. Canvas: 18 1/4" H x 24" W. 2nd item: Watercolor landscape with a single tree in an expansive field, signed lower left. Housed under glass in a distressed giltwood frame with black, grey, and cream triple mat, black reveal, and gilt fillet. Sight: 9 1/4" H x 12 3/4" W. Framed: 18" H x 21 1/2" W.
Condition
1st item with repaired tear to lower center, 2" L, minor impact damage with loss to right of repair, 1/4," plus frame abrasions and stretcher marks. With craquelure throughout, especially to sky. 2nd item in overall very good condition. Not examined outside of frame. 2nd item's frame with minor abrasions and losses.
