Eskind of Nashville; the living estate of Jerry Waters, Maryville, the estate of U.S. Ambassador Ron Schlicher of Brentwood, and from other fine estates and private and museum collections. - Lot Description
1st item: Large Chinese Famille Rose bottle form vase having a slightly flaring rim and molded shoulder, the bodies decorated with scenes of figures in landscapes including two groups of scholars, and a group of females conversing. Overglaze red seal mark to the base. 16 1/2" H. 2nd item: Chinese Famille Rose covered round jar with figural landscape decoration including a procession of figures, black overglaze K'ang Hsi mark to the base, and additional inscription to the lid. 7 3/8" H. Both items 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Thelma Schlicher, by descent from the estate of U.S. Ambassador Ronald Schlicher, Brentwood, TN. Note: Tennessee native Ron Schlicher entered the foreign service in 1982, working primarily in the Middle East. He returned to TN after retiring in 2011. Among his many diplomatic roles, he served as Ambassador to Cyprus, U.S. Principal Deputy Assistant Coordinator of Counterterrorism, and was director of the Iraq Task Force during the 2003 war with Iraq.

Both items overall very good condition with minor wear to polychrome decoration, primarily on the jar.
