1st item: One of the first Lebanon TN Deeds dated August 16, 1802, for "a certain lot... North 13 in the South East Square" of the newly established town of Lebanon, Tennessee, to James Peacock, purchased "at public sale." Signed by 5 original Wilson County commissioners Christopher Cooper, Hanson Trigg, John Doak, Matthew Figures, and John Harpole. Note: According to Goodspeed's History of Tennessee, "Lebanon, the county seat of Wilson, was founded in 1802, at which time the commission appointed by the General Assembly for that purpose, selected the land of James Menees upon which to locate the county seat. The town lots were sold at public auction on the 16th of August of the same year, among the purchasers being... James Peacock." 2nd item: 1808 land indenture between William Trigg Jr. of Sumner Co. and James Rawlings of Wilson County for Lot 5 in the Southwest Square of Lebanon, for $80. 3rd item:1810 land indenture between Joseph Martin and John Randolph, both of Wilson County, for Lot no. 3 in the Southwest Square of Lebanon for $80. 4th item: 1816 Estate inventory of John G. Ames of Wilson Co., mainly clothing. 5th item: 1880 printed broadside for the sale of the Alex Bass House, Wilson County. 6th item: Indenture between early Wilson County settlers William Standley and Blake Rutland for land on the waters of Stones Creek and the East Side of the Stones River, "by estimation 204 achors" for $309 (signed by Standley, fragile condition). 7th through 17th items: Other general land deeds and indentures, mostly Wilson and Eastern Davidson County, between: Thomas Overton (brother of Judge John Overton) and Flowers McGregor (1817), Garrett Johnson to Mack Roberts (1826), John Nichols to Thomas Rhodes (1822), Isham Johnson and Isaac Rowland (1833), John Scott and Daniel Richmond (1823), Dennis Kelley and Bernard Richardson (1831), James Gunter and John Roy (1824), Jeremiah Horn and Aaron Ruyle (1820), John and Elander Dukes and Allen Ross (1837), John Vaughan and Newell Robertson (1828), plus an 1829 order of sale of land with plat drawing, signed by James H. Davis, Thomas Davis, Henry Corke, William Gray and Isaac Wright.
All items: light toning/foxing, some with light fading to print and small holes or minor separations at fold lines, most in overall good condition. 3rd item has tears at fold lines and significant staining, 4th item has losses to top. 6th item, Standley-Rutland indenture, is almost fully detached at fold lines, very brittle and fragile.
