- Lot Description
11 pcs. coin silver flatware, mostly Southern. Includes 7 Teaspoons, 2 bearing marks for Bernard Dupuy (Raleigh, North Carolina 1828-1822) and Joseph Lawrence Stephens (Paris, Kentucky c. 1810-1827); 2 with fiddle-coffin ends marked for Alexander S. Gordon (New York, c. 1795), one with shell handle marked Adam in rectangle (likely the Adam silversmithing family of Alexandria, Va., or John B. Adam of New Orleans), one marked L. Collins in rectangle (maker unidentified) and one marked JTD in serrated rectangle (maker unidentified), monogrammed AV in cartouche. Also included are 2 salt ladles marked for Samuel Cockrell, Natchez, Mississippi c. 1850-1861, and Clark, Coit and Cargill (New York, 1830s-1840s); 1 coin silver cream ladle with fiddle tipt handle monogrammed SC, marked on reverse C.Lefavour (Charles Lefavour, working Lynn, MA, 1841-1860,) 6 1/2" L, .78 oz troy; and 1 Coin silver sauce ladle, French Thread pattern, the handle monogrammed D & R L, reverse with illegible double struck mark. 7"L, 1.29 oz troy. Provenance - Lexington, Kentucky area collection. Other pieces in good to excellent condition.
