• Lot Description

  An engraved vanity mirror with unique phrases etched on both faces of the glass. The engravings read:

  Side 1: she sits there like a solitary statue, still, motionless as she pulls a single strand of hair and winds it, twists it round and round her finger.

  Side 2: and she looked up and said why am I here

  Dimensions: 33 x 19 x 14 cm

  About Yvonne Singer:

  Professor Singer is a practising artist with an active national and international exhibition record. Her installation works employ multi-media techniques, often with cryptic texts to articulate cultural and psychological issues of disjuncture and perception. Singer is particularly interested in everyday language and the intersection of public and private histories.
