This plate was included in the community-driven exhibition called 'A Place at The Table', which examined diversity, equity and inclusion in our Region and beyond.
Mike and Lisa's artist statement reads:
Our community is represented along O:se Kenhionhata:tie, what many know as the Grand River, with a diversity of cultural communities who today call this land home. Each holds space for their own community to thrive, while each is also interconnected with others (and as a result, is changed).
The plate holds the reminder that we all have a shared dependence on the lifeblood of this land - most notably the river - and with this shared dependence comes a common bond and hope that all who live here may feel a sense of responsibility to the land, and belonging with one another.

This plate will also come with a copy of both the Voices (2022) Catalogue, and the A Place at The Table catalogue.
