About Heidi McKenzie:
Heidi McKenzie, a Toronto, Canada-based ceramic artist, holds a master's degree from OCADU (2014). With a heritage of Indian-Trinidad/Irish American mix, she explores themes of identity, migration, and colonialism through photography, digital media, and archives. A finalist for Canada's Shantz Award in 2022, McKenzie has exhibited internationally and received grants for creations in Denmark, Hungary, Australia, China, and Indonesia. Active in various conferences, she joined the International Ceramic Academy in 2023 and serves as a voluntary board member at NCECA. Her solo exhibit, "Reclaimed: Indo-CaribbeanHerStories" at the Gardiner Museum (Spring 2023), delves into the lesser-known histories of Indo-Caribbean contracts from a feminist perspective.
