Dualities exist in all forms of existence, physical, mental spiritual, mythical- often ilustrated in opposite.
SACRED GEOMETRY was selected in 2010 as a center piece of the exhibition WOMAN ON THE 21ST CENTURY: Margaret Fuller and the Sacred Marriage.
Tanya explores this ideal through the symbolic arrangement of each piece of her sculpture into a Hexagon (the core of the hexagon symbol chosen by Fuller as the frontpiece to her book (Woman in the 19th Century), the shapes representing the presence and union of both the female and male form. "A fully actualized woman attracts an actualized men who holds and brings his feminine-and creates a whole, sacred marriage- this has been my experience" states the artist.
Though, more pontedly, is the intentional absence in the sculpture of a literal male form expressing Tanya's belief, and affirming Fuller's, that "there is no wholly masculine man, no purely femenine, but that both are present in any individual.
The piece is one of a kind, made of Glazed ceramic.
Measurements:
32 inches x 36 inches x 7 inches projection off the wall.Signed and dated 2010.
