Exceptional Soapstone sculptures of two birds by Alan Middleton of Ontario, Canada.These beautiful pieces are 2 of approximately thirty animal designs that Middleton created between 1965 and 1974. Primary work by Middleton was out of native walnut -soapstone pieces are much less common - all are beautiful! Simple, minimalist, modern lines - his designs work extremely well with his choice of materials. The piece has an array of different colors and stones, it is a truly magnificent piece.
The piece retains the original bamboo frame and is in very good original condition.

For out of state buyers we can provide shipping quotes or provide a list of shippers, we do not pack anything ourselves but we can drop off the pieces to a shipping store such as UPS or FedEx and arrange shipping with freight companies such as Plycon, Craters & Freighters, Tramo, Cube, and others.
