Stunningly beautiful is this carved pedestal hand made in France in the mid 1800's by Master sculptor and artist P.Mazaroz R.
The piece is heavily carved having flowers, fruits and vegetables along with some ribbons and scrolls.
The piece is made out of solid wood and is composed of 3 parts, the base, main body and the top, they come apart for shipping.The center piece is hollow.
The piece is signed P. Hazaroz R AND the numbers 24534Measurements:
64.25 inches high x 24 wide (top) x 26.25 inches wide at base x 17 inches deep.
Paul Mazaroz was a sculptor who began his career working for Ribailler in the 1850's. At the World's Fair of 1855, Mazaroz exhibited several pieces of furniture himself. At this point, his success and popularity started to grow, particularly at the World Fairs of 1867 and 1878 where he won silver medals. The Mazaroz firm disappeared in 1890.
