including a partially-printed land grant, dated March 14, 1795, signed by Richard Dobbs Spaight (1758-1802), with original wax seal of North Carolina, Spaight was the eighth governor of North Carolina, from 1792 to 1795, signer of the U.S. Constitution at the Constitutional Convention of 1787, 13-1/4 x 16-1/4 in., with a few breaks at the folds, some minor foxing otherwise very good; together with a hand-written document dated November 20, 1794, with the description of the plot and a small hand-drawn map, 9 x 7-1/4 in., two large darkened spots otherwise very good; both housed in a custom clamshell case, marbled paper boards, leather-backed, with gilt-titled morocco spine label, some wear at the extremities otherwise very good; with receipt from William Reese Company

Sales Tax: If you live in North Carolina and/or pick up from the auction house, and do not have a valid resale tax number on file with us, you MUST pay North Carolina state sales tax. The NC Sales Tax will not apply to any items being shipped out of state (unless the client resides in North Carolina) or to those clients with a resale tax number.
