two 1960s stone rubbings on paper: Buddhist Celestial Apsara from the famous Large Cast-Bronze Bell (cast in 771 AD) - now known as the Emille Bell -at Bongdeoksa Temple, Unified Silla Kingdom (668-935 AD), Korea, stylized swirling clouds and flowers, inscription upper right with two seals, mounted to paper backing with silk brocade borders, image 50 x 26 in., overall 73 x 31 in.; Zodiac Figure of the Dragon-Headed Guardian from the Tomb of the Silla Kingdom's General Kim Yushin (595-673) in the Three Kingdoms Period (57 BC-668 AD) Capital city of Gyeongju-si, South Korea., inscription lower left with two seals, mounted to paper backing with silk brocade borders, image 36-3/4 x 21-3/4 in., overall 61-1/2 x 27-1/2 in.
Note: Mounted as hanging scrolls, these are original rare ink on paper rubbings of Korea’s artwork designated National Treasures dating from the Three Kingdoms Period (57 BC-668 AD) and Unified Silla Kingdom (668-935 AD).Direct ink rubbings are no longer allowed in Korea in order to preserve the artwork. These early 1960s ink rubbings are scarce.

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
