March 1861, folio broadside one of 200 copies; Sabin 87433; one of the earliest Confederate imprints, an extremely rare and fine copy of South Carolina‘s official act of Secession, after Lincoln‘s election, South Carolina‘s newly elected governor Francis Pickens called a special convention, the ordinance was passed unanimously and enthusiastically declaring the dissolution of the union between South Carolina and the rest of the United States; Following South Carolina‘s revolutionary act, six other states followed suit in close succession; 34 x 26-1/2 in.. Provenance: Discovered among the papers of Govenor Williams Dunlap Simpson. Carefully stored in a document tube, this copy is in excepally fine condition; Property of a Gentleman
hinged in, light vertical rolling creases, light toning and foxing, some archival restoration to the extremities, and one small chip from the lower left corner otherwise very good condition, restoration done by Etherington Conservation, the consignor stated the copy "was kept in a metal document tube for the first 130 years. We had it conserved, matted and framed to museum standards… by Etherington Conservation"
In house shipping. Brunk Auctions provides in-house shipping via UPS Ground (signature required) for many items. Brunk Auctions will provide a shipping quote which includes shipping, materials, labor and insurance. Insurance is based on the selling price and premium.

Shipping arrangements are made only after the invoice is paid. The payment for shipping is a separate charge from payment of your lots.
Sales Tax: If you live in North Carolina and/or pick up from the auction house, and do not have a valid resale tax number on file with us, you MUST pay North Carolina state sales tax. The NC Sales Tax will not apply to any items being shipped out of state (unless the client resides in North Carolina) or to those clients with a resale tax number.
