probably Continental, late 19th century, large oval tureen form with four double-bracket feet, reticulated earthenware covered in cream-colored glaze, two lovebirds seated in a bouquet of modeled flowers form the finial with modeled bouquet handles, no marks, 13 x 13 in., losses in flowers especially on one handle where rope is also missing, one lovebird replaced or greatly restored, the other bird repaired, glaze worn in spots, short crack at top of one foot visible underneath, other cracks and breaks throughout, various anomalies as made.
